GVS Acquires Majority Share in Maine Manufacturing
GVS told IBO that the investment, which closed February 5, will increase its share in the US life science filtration market. The transaction will also add Maine Manufacturing’s product offerings to GVS’s distribution network, as well as provide cross-technology opportunities, particularly for membrane filtration.
Bologna, Italy 2/26/13; Sanford, ME 2/26/13—Filtration products manufacturer GVS has acquired a majority equity interest in Maine Manufacturing. The invested capital was used to support Maine Manufacturing’s recent acquisitions of selected GE Osmonics products (see IBO 12/15/12) and life science product lines from GE Healthcare (see IBO 1/15/13). “This alliance will allow Maine Manufacturing to access the global sales network of GVS, and their worldwide R&D will provide additional impetus to our market and product expansion,” stated Maine Manufacturing President Bill Emhiser. GVS’s filtration business includes a Laboratory Division. GVS has 12 manufacturing plants worldwide and sales offices in 16 countries.
