Bruker Buys Software Provider

Bruker stated that the companies will focus on new software routines for NMR-based structure verification and elucidation, and that the acquisition enables the full integration of PERCH’s software modules with Bruker’s analysis software. At Pittcon, Bruker highlighted the ability of PERCH’s software to calculate spectral data, as opposed to searching databases.

Chicago, IL 3/9/09—Bruker BioSpin has acquired PERCH Solutions, a provider of NMR software for proton NMR prediction, spectral analysis and molecular modeling. Established in 2002 and based in Kuopio, Finland, PERCH software is part of several Bruker BioSpin NMR software products. “Many of PERCH’s market segments and applications overlap with those of our NMR small molecule business, making the PERCH software solutions an excellent addition to our industry-leading TopSpin and AMIX software. This synergy is expected to be a major driver for the growth of our small molecule analysis product line,” stated Dr. Bernd Gewiese, executive vice president of Bruker BioSpin. PERCH will continue to operate under its former management.
