In February, publicly held Japanese firm SCREEN Holdings acquired Japanese-based Alpha MED Scientific, the producer of the MED64 microelectrode array system for the measurement of extracellular field potential.

Applied Biophysics named ibidi USA as a representative for US and Canada.

BioAxial, developer of Conical Diffraction Microscopy, named Georges Tabary as president and CEO earlier this year.

Product Introductions

MR Solutions, in partnership with Optiscan, released in February the second generation CellLive endomicroscopy platform for examining cellular details within a live small animal.

In March, Apogee launched the A60-Micro-PLUS flow cytometer for extremely small-particle applications.

ViroCyte released the ViroTag INVS for its Virus Counter 3100 for influenza virus quantification and in-process monitoring.

ViroCyte launched in May the ViroTag AAV5 assay for the Virus Counter 3100.

Fluxion Biosciences released in March the BioFlux Extended Flow module for live-cell analysis, which includes a six-well interface and consumables, for 110 hours flow time or, at low flow rates, up to 21 days under perfusion.

South Korea-based TomoCube announced in March the launch of the HT-1 holographic microscope for 3D live-cell imaging without staining.

Olympus introduced the FLUOVIEW FV3000 confocal laser scanning microscope, which succeeds the FV1200.

In April, BioTek Instruments launched the Lionheart FX Automated Live Cell Imager with Augmented Microscopy, optimized for kinetic live-cell imaging, with up to 100x air and oil immersion magnification in a variety of slides, dishes, microplates and flasks.

BioTek Instruments released the Gen 5 3.0 Data Analysis Software for its imaging and microplate detection instruments, providing a single platform for a wide range of cell-based workflows.

BioTek Instruments and MilliporeSigma announced an integrated solution for long-term live-cell experiments and dynamic time-lapse analyses, consisting of their respective Lionheart FX Automated Live Cell Imager and CellASIC ONIX2 Microfluidic System.

In May, Molecular Devices introduced the ImageXpress Micro 4 High-Content Imaging System, which adds the AgileOptix spinning disc confocal module to the ImageXpress system. MetaXpress Software now includes 3-D image analysis capability.

Beckman Coulter launched the compact Vi-CELL MetaFLEX biochemistry analyzer for cell culture applications. It features a sensor cassette and automated sampling arm.
