Newton, NJ and Westwood, MA 10/7/13—Photonics product manufacturer Thorlabs has acquired CompuCyte, the supplier of the Laser Scanning Cytometry technology for high content cellular and tissue-based analysis, for an undisclosed amount. CompuCyte’s iCyte, iCys and iColor instruments incorporate non-confocal laser scanner imaging technology. “The acquisition of the CompuCyte product lines is an important step forward for Thorlabs as it works to extend its innovative family of life science imaging products into the cytometry market,” commented Jeff Brooker, general manager of Thorlabs Imaging Division.” CompuCyte personnel will join Thorlabs’ operations in Sterlin, Virginia.
