Corning Makes Life Science Acquisition

The acquisition strengthens Corning’s European Life Sciences business. Corning stated that the acquisition provides new additions to its Life Sciences product lines, including petri dishes, bottles, tubes and bags. Plaslab has more than 300 employees and subsidiaries in North America and Tunisia.

Corning, NY 8/13/10—Corning has agreed to acquire Plaslab SAS, a manufacturer and distributor of plastic consumable labware in Europe, for an undisclosed amount. France-based Plaslab is the holding company of Plastiques Gosselin SAS. “One way we create balance is by building a healthy portfolio of businesses in different markets,” stated Corning President and COO Peter F. Volanakis. Plaslab President and CEO Jean Gosselin will remain with the company. Plaslab will join Corning’s Life Sciences segment.
