Danaher Announces New Reporting Structure

Washington, DC 7/2/16; Washington, DC 7/25/16—Danaher has announced new reporting segments following the spin off of Fortive (see IBO 12/31/15) on July 2. Publicly held Fortive consists of Danaher’s former Test & Measurement, and Industrial Technologies (excluding Product Identification) segments, as well as the Retail/Commercial Petroleum platform. Beginning in the third quarter, the new reporting segments are Life Sciences (Beckman Coulter Life Sciences, SCIEX, Molecular Devices, Leica Microsystems, Pall), Diagnostics (Beckman Coulter, Leica Biosystems, Radiometer), Dental (KaVo, Kerr, Nobel Biocare, Ormco, Dexis) and Environmental & Applied Solutions (Water Quality [Hach Trojan Technologies, ChemTreat] and Product ID [Videojet, Esko, X-Rite, Pantone]). In 2015, revenue for the Life Sciences segment grew 32.0% to $3,314.7 million, which consisted of 3.0% core growth, 35.5% growth due to acquisitions and a negative 6.5% impact of currency translation.

The Life Sciences and Diagnostics businesses were previously reported together in one segment. Core growth for the Life Sciences segment averaged 3.3% across four quarters in 2015. The Life Sciences business also includes Pall Industrial.
