In fall 2015, DANI Instruments appointed Labindia Instruments as its exclusive GC distributor for India.
In December 2015, Alpha MOS named John Paul Ansel as president and CEO.
Alpha MOS 2015 revenues grew 9.2% to €8.2 million ($9.1 million). Sales in Japan, the US, Europe and Other declined 7.3%, 6.0%, 7.8% and 29.6% to represent 32%, 23%, 22% and 1% of sales, respectively. Sales in Asia (excluding Japan) rose 105.0% to make up 22%.
VUV Analytics announced a collaboration project with the California Institute of Technology’s Environmental Analysis Center, an open-access, user-operated lab, to explore application capabilities using the VGA-100 Vacuum Ultraviolet detector.
INFICON Emergency Response & Security’s 2015 sales fell 38.4% to $22.1 million, or 8% of company sales.
Scion Instruments named Paul Gillyon as CEO. He previously served as managing director of IDEX businesses supplying sealing solutions for high-technology industries.
Product Introductions
In January, PAC launched its next generation SIMDIS Software for the GC SimDis Analyzers. It interfaces to all major CDS platforms.
Markes released in February a new sorbent tube, dedicated to the analysis PAHs in air.
AGC Instruments, a supplier of lab and process GCs, launched TrendVision Chromatography Software, which integrates instrument control, data handling, display, reporting and export functions.
VUV Analytics launched VUV Analyze to support application-specific methods. The first application method introduced is routine fuel analysis using the VUV PIONA+.
JEOL introduced in March an EI/PI source for its fourth generation AccuTOF-GCX TOF-MS. The two ionization methods are available without changing hardware.
MilliporeSigma released the Watercol capillary GC columns, which enable a sharp peak shape for water.
MilliporeSigma introduced the SLB IL (i-series) capillary GC columns, which provide selectivity and inertness toward polar analytes.
DANI Instruments released the MASTER SHS (Static Head Space) autosampler, which can now be controlled by Waters’s Empower CDS, and the cost effective 86.50 Plus autosampler.
DANI Instruments introduced the new MASTER P&T purge and trap sampler, which uses disposable vials and is compatible with any GC or GC/MS system.
In March, 908 Devices launched the G908 GC/MS, a universal petrochemical analyzer, which combines high-pressure MS and ballistic GC, for in-line, at-line, lab-based or remote field-based testing. A plug-and-go multicolumn device, it weighs 28 lb.
