GC & GC/MS
Company Announcements
Advanced Chromatography Systems and its operating sister companies, Cambridge Scientific Instruments and Unicam Chromatography, in March introduced Ellutia as their new global brand and name.
The Open University and Agilent UK launched in May the Agilent Center of Excellence in Comprehensive Chromatography. The Center provides instrument demonstrations, application development and method training.
Product Introductions
Agilent introduced the 240 and 220 Ion Trap GC/MS systems, which consists of its ion trap MS systems and the Capillary Flow Technology of the Agilent 7890A GC.
Bruker released the new compassCDS (chromatography data system) for its GC systems. It is designed as a transition from the Galaxie CDS.
ATAS launched the fourth-generation OPTIC-4 multimode inlet for GC, which can operate as a large-volume injection, pyrolysis or thermal desorption sample-introduction device.
PAC, a Roper company, introduced the AC Analytical Controls FAME in AVTUR (aviation turbine fuels) analyzer, a GC system that combines Deans switching with refocusing. No sample preparation is required.
Parker Hannifin launched the Parker THM Analyzer, an on-site integrated purge and trap GC for the measurement of trihalomethane concentration at ppb levels in less than 30 minutes without sample preparation.
Restek released the PLOT Rt-Alumina BOND/MAPD (fused silica) and MTX-Alumina BOND (metal) columns, which are designed for the trace-level analysis of unsaturated hydrocarbons.
Thermo Fisher Scientific launched the Thermo Scientific TraceGOLD GC Metal Columns range for high-throughput and high-temperature applications. They are available in three stationary phase formats: TG-1MT, TG-5MT and TV-WAXMT.
In July, PerkinElmer introduced the Clarus SQ 8 GC/MS, which minimizes the requirements for calibration and reduces the need for sample preparation and concentration.
Thermo Fisher Scientific launched the Thermo Scientific TriPlus RSH Autosampler for its GC and GC/MS systems. It features an Automatic Tool Change capability for automating the exchange of syringes in a single, unattended sequence prior to sample injection, as well as Vial Bottom Sensing.
Sales/Orders of Note
In August, Bruker announced that the Korean National Agricultural Products Quality Management Services ordered six triple quadrupole GC/MS systems for pesticide residue analysis and general monitoring of agricultural products.
