Thermo Fisher Scientific introduced in September the addition of negative and positive ion chemical ionization capabilities, as well as direct insertion and direction exposure probe options, to its Thermo Scientific TSQ 8000 triple quadrupole GC/MS system.

AMETEK introduced the Chandler Engineering Model 292B portable GC for the determination of the energy content (BTU) of natural gas.

CMS Field Products, a subsidiary of Xylem’s OI Analytical brand, entered into a $12.3 million contract in May with Bechtel Parsons Blue Grass, a system contractor selected by the US Department of Defense’s Assembled Chemical Weapons Alternatives program, to provide chemical-agent monitoring systems that are based on the MINICAMS product line.
