GC & GC/MS

Company Announcements

Agilent Technologies agreed in June to distribute Cerno Bioscience’s MassWorks calibration and analysis software with all Agilent GC/MSD systems. The technology increases the mass accuracy of Agilent’s single-quadrupole GC/MSD to enable unknown-compound identification.

In August, Agilent Technologies and Shimadzu released each other’s GC instrument control for their respective chromatography data systems (CDSs).

INFICON’s Emergency Response & Security sales rose 56.3% in the second quarter to $7.5 million. In the third quarter, segment sales grew 3.3% to $6.3 million.

In October, IMSPEX Diagnostics completed a £1.4 million ($2.3 million) funding round.

Product Introductions

Phenomenex introduced in July the Zebron ZB-CLPesticides-1 and 2 for dual-column pesticide testing for chlorinated pesticides, which runs seven EPA methods.

In September, Agilent Technologies launched the 7200B Q-TOF GC/MS System, which replaces the 7200A. It provides improved mass-accuracy specification of less than 3 ppm and an extended mass range.

Thermo Fisher Scientific released a selected-ion-monitoring bridge software for the Chromeleon CDS for the Thermo Scientific TSQ Duo triple-quadrupole GC/MS/MS. It allows users to run both single- and triple-quadrupole MS methods.
