Huber Buys Circulation and Cooler Firm

Offenburg, Germany 3/23/17—Huber, a provider of thermoregulation solutions for research and industry, has acquired Van-der-Heijden Labortechnik for an undisclosed amount. Van-der-Heijden Labortechnik is a manufacturer of circulation coolers and system separation (water-water heat exchangers), specializing in custom designs. “Their product portfolio complements the portfolio of our group. In analytics and when it comes down to the cost-effective dissipation of process heat, Van-der-Heijden is already one of the best,” stated Huber Chair Daniel Huber. Mirko Laskowski and Andrej Kepler have been appointed CEOs of Van-der-Heijden Labortechnik, with former CEO and owner Christoph Plagens serving as an advisor and sales manager.

Van-der-Heijden Labortechnik (VdH) has 27 employees, according to a Huber spokesperson. The spokesperson also told IBO, “There is no real product overlap. Both companies produce chillers, but for completely different branches and applications. With the acquisition of VdH, we expand in new markets and don’t compete with our own products. The VdH products are an ideal complement to the Huber product portfolio.” The acquisition expands Huber’s line of lab chillers and recirculating coolers. For labs, Huber’s offerings also include temperature control systems, and bath and circulation thermostats.
