Agilent and ChemAxon agreed to maintain the integration between their respective Kalabie Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) and software suite. Agilent and Accelrys entered into a comprehensive reseller agreement in September for licensing and integration. Accelrys will resell Agilent’s OpenLAB Enterprise Content Manager, Kalabie ELN and GeneSpring gene expression products. Agilent will resell Accelrys’s Accord cheminformatics solution and Pipeline Pilot Scientific Operating Platform solutions. InforSense partnered with GenomeQuest. Progeniq, a provider of reconfigurable computing applications, joined Microsoft’s Bio IT Alliance. Following its acquisition of MDL Information Systems (see IBO 8/15/07) in September, Symyx Technologies undertook a restructuring plan that included the reduction of about 124 employees, consisting of 100 US employees and 20 overseas employees.
