Flow chemistry instrument supplier Vapourtec announced a 15% increase in sales in 2015.

Swedish firm ADDvise agreed in February to acquire LabRum, a Swedish provider of lab furniture, safety ventilation and lab equipment, for SEK 34.5 million ($4.1 million) with a possible earn out of SEK 11.5 million ($1.4 million). LabRum had fiscal 2015 sales of SEK 72.5 million ($8.6 million) and EBITDA of SEK 7.4 million ($0.9 million).

Baker Ruskinn named SciPro as a North American distributor.

Rice Lake Weighing Systems signed a distribution agreement with Brasil Calibração E Sistemas.

ANGUS Chemical announced in March the launch of ANGUS Life Sciences to supply the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and agriculture markets with buffers, biochemical, biomolecules and intermediates.

Product Introductions

Panasonic Biomedical launched in January the MDF-U5412H -40°C freezer for freshly frozen plasma and blood-related products, featuring hydrocarbon refrigerants.

Thermo Fisher Scientific introduced in January the CE-marked, 230 V Thermo Scientific Environmental Chambers in Europe, Africa, Latin America and the Asia Pacific region. Two models are available: the wide temperature units with humidity and the heat-only models.

In March, Thermo Fisher Scientific launched a new line of Fisher Chemical GC headspace-grade solvents.

In February, Mystaire released the Isola Series Filtered Chemical Workstation, consisting of three models: the Isola VUE, PRO and EDGE.

Sartorius released the Tacta range of premium mechanical pipettes, available in a range of volumes of 0.1–10,000 µL for single channel models and 0.5–300 µL for multichannel models. Only three parts require disassembly for cleaning and no tools are needed.

Gilson introduced a redesigned and expanded range of its PIPETMAN M line of single and multichannel electronic pipettes, now featuring guaranteed performance in repetitive pipetting mode and a programmable custom mode. The range now consists of eight single channel models for volumes of 0.5 µL to 10 mL, and 12 multichannel models for volumes of 0.5–1200 µL.

Air Science released the Purair NANO line of ductless nanoparticle enclosures.

In March, NuAire introduced the NuWind multiapplication, benchtop ventilated (NU-C200V) and refrigerated (NU-C200R) centrifuges, with a maximum speed of 15,300 rpm and a maximum relative centrifugal force of 22,380.

Mettler-Toledo launched the Compact Titration 10S line, consisting of Karl Fischer volumetric, Karl Fischer coulometric and potentiometric compact titrators, and featuring the One Click graphical user interface.
