In January, Quanterix named Cold Spring Biotech as its exclusive distributor for China, and Research Instruments as a distributor for Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia.
In February, Quanterix named CRO Frontage Laboratories as a preferred partner for assay R&D.
In March, Quanterix raised $46 million in Series D financing. It will launch desktop instruments in 2017.
In February, Advanced Electrophoresis Solutions named Isogen Life Science as its exclusive distributor for Europe.
Fourth quarter 2015 sales for NanoString Technologies grew 42.9% to $22.3 million (see IBO 3/15/16), including $2.9 million in collaboration revenue, which more than doubled. Product and service revenues grew 36.4%, 40% excluding currency, led by strong demand for life science consumables and expanded Prosigna IVD sales. Full-year 2015 product and service sales grew 27.3% to $56.6 million. Collaboration revenue jumped 94.7%, adding $6.0 million. Full-year operating loss narrowed 10.4% to $41.2 million.
In March, Luminex expanded the size of its Board from 9 to 10 directors, adding Dr. Stephen Eck, vice president of Oncology Medical Sciences at Astellas Pharma Global Development.
In March, high-technology firm Brimrose Technology established a biotechnology division. Projects include the development of fluorescence strips for the rapid and sensitive detection of bacteria, viruses and toxins based on immunological reactions.
Micronit Microfluidics and iX-factory announced a definitive merger agreement in March, which will combine their respective design and high-volume manufacturing capabilities, and experience in silicon and silicon/glass micro-machining.

Cleaver Scientific released the next generation OmniPAGE VS20WAVE-DGGE (Denaturing Gradient Gel Electrophoresis) System, featuring a modular design for switching between different mutation detection techniques.
Advanced Analytical introduced in January the Fragment Analyzer INFINITY for high-throughput genomics labs. It can run over 2,400 samples per day without human intervention.
Advanced Analytical launched the FEMTO Pulse for automated parallel CE. It can detect down to 1 fg/µL of nucleic acid.
ProteinSimple released a new single analyte cartridge for analyzing 72 samples at once using the Ella instrument.
Biolin Scientific launched the one-channel Q-Sense Initiator, based on quartz crystal microbalance technology with dissipation monitoring, and Q-Sense Dfind software.
