In December 2011, Gilson launched the PIPETMAN M Multichannel, a new electronic and motorized extension of the PIPETMAN M family. It was designed for use with 96- and 384-well microplates and is available in 8 and 12 channels for volume ranges of 1–20 µL and 20–200 µL.
BaltCap completed in December 2011 a third capital investment in pan-Baltic lab supply provider Labochema.
Sigma-Aldrich signed in January a five-year contract extension through March 31, 2019, with Honeywell for the manufacture and supply of Riedel-de Haën high-purity solvents, Karl Fischer reagents and other lab chemicals products from the Seelze, Germany, manufacturing site.
Kewaunee Scientific agreed in January to a significant US sales-territory expansion with ISEC, an interior specialty contractor.
In January, Kewaunee Scientific added Nycom, a furniture product firm, to its US dealer network.

Micronic Holding launched Micronic America, based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in February, which will operate in conjunction with Micronic Manufacturing USA.
In February, EMD Millipore opened its first lab water production site in China, which will manufacture the Ming Che product line of tailor-made laboratory water purification systems and consumables for the Chinese market. The line will be sold exclusively in China.
Product Introductions
Corning introduced in January an extended line of disposable closed-system lab products for cell culture research and production. They are designed for the aseptic sampling, liquid handling or transfer of cell culture from one vessel to another.
Telstar launched the Telstar Igloo line, its first ultra-low freezer products, in January. Models ranges from temperatures of -45 °C to -86 °C and capacities of 370–830 L and have low power consumption and small footprints.
EMD Millipore updated its range of Direct-Q water purification systems to include models capable of supplying 50 L, 100 L and 150 L of pure water per day and up to 30 L per hour of ultrapure water.
EMD Millipore introduced the Elix Essential water purification systems, which integrates the Elix electrodeionization technology, for Type 2 pure water.
BD Bisociences released the new BD Mosaic Mesenchymal Stem Cell Serum-Free, a complete cell culture environment for human mesenchymal stem cells derived from bone marrow. It is designed to provide cell expansion in a shorter culture time.
