Leica Expands Histopathology Business
In making the acquisition, Leica cited the advantages for end-users of a single supplier and the ability to better develop and manufacture products based on a coordinated approach between systems and reagents.
Wetzlar, Germany and St. Louis, MO 5/14/08—Leica Microsystems, a Danaher company, has acquired the assets of Coretech Holdings and McCormick Scientific for an undisclosed amount. Coretech is a provider of instruments, reagents and consumables for clinical and research histopathology laboratories. Coretech has joined Leica Biosystems and its CEO Doug Martin has become vice president and general manager of Leica Biosystems St. Louis.
