Protein Discovery named eight distributors for its PPS Silent Surfactant reagent product for MS membrane protein sample preparation: ProteoMass Australia (Australia and New Zealand), American Health and Medical Supply International (China), Professional Biotech (India), Precision Technologies (Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore), Labogen (Italy), AMR (Japan), Chubu Science (Japan) and GenDiscovery Biotechnology (Taiwan). In July, QIAGEN NV officially opened its Hong Kong subsidiary. The company has 12 Asian offices with approximately 300 employees. BioMicro Systems is distributing in the US and Canada Kreatech Biotechnology BV’s Universal Linkage System solutions for nucleic and protein labeling for microarrays. In August, Open Biosystems announced it will sell Abcam’s primary antibodies with its libraries of cDNA, ORF (open reading frames) and shRNA clones. In August, Sigma-Aldrich signed a distribution agreement for the UK healthcare market with UK-based distributor CellPath. Invitrogen entered into a strategic collaboration with IDEXX Laboratories in August under which IDEXX will distribute water testing kits that utilize its technologies, including Dynabeads GC-Combo.
