In September, Biosearch Technologies acquired a majority stake in LightSpeed Genomics, a provider of optical detection solutions based on Synthetic Aperture Optics technology. Biosearch and LightSpeed codeveloped Biosearch’s StellarVision gene expression platform.
Singulex secured a debt facility for up to $40 million.
The USDA agreed to evaluate PathoGenetix’s Genome Sequencing Scanning technology for use in identifying strains of E. coli and Salmonella enterica.
PathoGenetix secured in October $10 million in Series C financing from existing investors.

In September, Sequenom launched a certified service provider program for its MassARRAY System.
Mediso Medical Imaging Systems introduced the nanoScan single photon emission computed tomography/ computed tomography/PET system in September.
In October, Illumina launched a new high-throughput screening (HTS) format for its Infinium BeadChip family of genotyping arrays, with a 24-sample HTS BeadChip that supports up to 750,000 markers per sample, increases scanning capacity, and allows more affordable pricing per sample.
BioNano Genomics released the IrysChip V2, with a 15-fold increase in throughput.
Affymetrix launched the 90,000 SNP Axiom Strawberrry Genotyping Array.
