Miltenyi Biotec Buys Homogenizer Company
Miltenyi Biotech, which has 1,100 employees, is the provider of MACS technology for cell separation. The acquisition further adds to the company’s line of equipment for cellular research. The gentleMACS produces single-cell suspensions from tissues.
Bergisch Gladbach, Germany 6/9/08—Miltenyi Biotec GmbH has purchased Medic Tools AG, which sells the Dispomix homogenization system. The companies collaborated to develop the gentleMACS Dissociator. “The additional expertise of Medic Tools enables Miltenyi Biotec to further engage in development projects in the area of sample preparation,” stated Miltenyi Biotec CEO Dr. Boris Stoffel. “We offer our biomedical research customers a complete solution, from sample preparation to cell separation, cell analysis, cytological and molecular analysis.”
