XiGo Nanotools named DKSH its exclusive representative for Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia.

In May, Perten Instruments established a sales and service operation in Rome, Italy.

Malvern Instruments entered into a development and licensing agreement for Paraytec’s ActiPix UV area imaging technology. Malvern gained exclusive rights to develop, market and sell the technology in specific fields of use related to characterization of complex fluids for applications in the biopharmaceutical, food and personal care industries.

In July, BioTools entered into cooperative agreement with Chiral Technologies to provide a comprehensive suite of chirality-related services and technologies.

Spectra Analysis Instruments named three new distributors: Irida for Spain and Portugal, MLS Analytical for the US Midwest, and NanoChrom for the US.

Product Introductions

ASD released the portable TerraSpec Explorer, with a spectral range of 350–2500 nm and 6 nm resolution, and the high-throughput TerraSpec Examiner, with 10 nm resolution, for the analysis of minerals in exploration and production.

Agilent launched the next-generation Cary 60 UV-Vis spectrometer, featuring improved performance, ease of use and sample handling.

FOSS introduced the NIRS DS2500 feed analyzer, a monochromator-based NIR reflectance and transflectance analyzer with a scanning range of 400–2500 nm. It is backward compatible with other FOSS NIR systems, allowing for the reuse of calibration data.

FOSS released the MilkoScan FT1, an FT-IR milk analyzer, which offers screening for milk standardization as well as built-in food safety screening via an abnormality-screening module.

In August, Thermo Fisher Scientific introduced the Thermo Scientific microPHAZIR AS, a handheld NIR spectrometer for asbestos screening.

Thermo Fisher Scientific, in collaboration with Aunir, launched the precalibrated Antaris II FT-NIR analyzer for feed and ingredient analyses in agriculture and for flour and milling analyses in food processing.

CRAIC Technologies released the new Apollo Raman microspectrometer, which can be used in either a standalone configuration or added to CRAIC’s UV-visible-NIR microspectrophotometer.

Bruker launched the small, easy-to-use TANGO FT-NIR spectrometer. It is available in two versions: one for measuring solids in reflection and one for measuring liquids in transmission.

Picarro introduced the Picarro 13C+D Combustion Module–Cavity Ring-Down Spectroscopy Isotope Analyzer for simultaneous carbon and hydrogen isotope analysis.
