MTS Buys Chinese Firm
The acquisition expands MTS’s Asian business, providing it with an established customer base in China. SANS Group also manufacturers dynamic testing, pendulum impact testing and dynamic testing systems. MTS is the second largest provider of physical testing instrumentation.
Eden Prairie, MN 4/29/08—MTS Systems has agreed to acquire SANS Group, a Chinese provider of materials testing products with annual sales of approximately $25 million. “While MTS has a successful 30-year history in China, SANS’ sales and service capability, product portfolio, and established customer base expands our ability to serve the increasing demand for testing solutions in China and worldwide,” said MTS CEO Laura B. Hamilton. Headquartered in Shenzhen, China, SANS’ products include electro-mechanical and static-hydraulic testing systems. The acquisition is expected to close in September.
