Roche Further Invests in NGS Sample Prep
Lumora’s Heat Elution technology, which prepares genomic material for PCR using a membrane filter, an inhibitor removal matrix and heat lysis, is simpler and faster than competing techniques, according to Lumora. The Heat Elution column can be used for collection, storage and transport.
Pleasanton, CA 8/24/15; Cambridgeshire, UK 8/24/15—Roche has definitively agreed to acquire from Lumora products associated with Heat Elution technology for nucleic acid purification of multiple sample types, including FFPE tumor samples. According to Roche, Lumora’s technology simplifies nucleic acid isolation, takes only minutes and can be used with a variety of samples types. “Lumora’s Heat Elution technology can be integrated to an automated sequencing workflow, which makes it an ideal fit for Roche’s sequencing vision of a sample-in–results-out workflow,” stated Dan Zabrowski, head of Roche’s Tissue Diagnostics and Roche Sequencing Unit.
