Biotage AB expanded its outsourcing collaboration with PartnerTech, which will take over most instrument manufacturing. Running initially through 2011, the agreement is worth approximately SEK 40 million ($5 million) annually. Manufacturing will be relocated from Charlottesville, Virginia, to Åtvidaberg, Sweden.
Syrris reported 80% growth in the first half of 2009.
Syrris incorporated its Indian subsidiary in June.
In July, Syrris named Chemglass Life Sciences as the exclusive US distributor for its batch reactor products.

Protein Technologies introduced the Sonata XT peptide synthesizer for 0.5–200 mmol synthesis scales.
Protein Technologies launched the IntelliSynth UV-Monitoring and Feedback Control System for its Tribute Peptide Synthesizer (see IBO 4/30/08) for monitoring the efficiency of Fmoc removal in deprotection reactions.
In April, Biotage AB released the Initiator 2.5 microwave synthesizer for synthetic chemistry, featuring increased run times.
In May, Syrris introduced the Atlas FT-IR System for in situ reaction monitoring, featuring Bruker Optics’ Matrix-MF FT-IR spectrometer.
Anton Paar launched the Monowave 300 monomode microwave synthesis reactor for small-scale reactions, featuring 850 W unpulsed microwave output power and extremely high-field density.
