The Verder Group Adds to Laboratory Business
ELTRA will keep its name and facilities. Verder’s Laboratory Division consists of Retsch and Retsch Technology GmbH, which supplies particle analyzers. Retsch supplies sample preparation equipment, including products for elemental analyzers. According to Verder, ELTRA focuses on the steel and ceramics markets. Verder also holds a 15.5% stake in Analytik Jena.
Vleuten, the Netherlands/Haan, Germany 5/2/12—The Verder Group acquired elemental analyzer supplier ELTRA GmbH in March for an undisclosed amount. ELTRA had revenues of €11 million ($15.3 million = €0.72 = $1) in 2011. “We are particularly happy that the founder and Managing Director of ELTRA, Mr. Yiannakis Polemitis, will stay in the management in the coming years and will join us in advancing ELTRA,” commented Verder Group Managing Partner Andries Verder. ELTRA will join Verder’s Retsch Laboratory Division. ELTRA has 35 employees at its headquarters in Neuss, Germany, and 40 employees at a Bucharest, Romania, production facility.
