Los Angeles, CA 5/9/18; Los Angeles, CA 5/14/18—CalibreScientific, which provides of life science tools, has acquired three companies for an undisclosed amount. It has purchased German life science products distributor BIOZOL Diagnostica Vertrieb. BIOZOL offers more than six million product SKUs. “BIOZOL has built a great reputation in the marketplace over the last 25+ years, and we look forward to continuing on that tradition by adding new innovative suppliers to the portfolio to provide a comprehensive solution set with the goal of becoming a single-source provider for our customers,” commented CalibreScientfic CEO Ben Travis.

Calibre Scientific have also acquired Protein Ark and BioServUK. BioServUK, a contract research and manufacturing organization, produces bio­molecules, primarily specialty antibodies, for research, bipoharma and IVD manufacturers. ProteinArk supplies sample preparation products, separation kits and custom services for clone-to-protein and peptide-to-antibody research. “The acquisition further bolsters our presence in the United Kingdom and provides a strong foundation to service our customers across Europe,” said CalibreScientific CEO Ben Travis. “Additionally, these companies will enhance CalibreScientific’s presence in the proteomics vertical, which already includes detergent and lipids leader, Anatrace, and crystallography specialist, Molecular Dimensions.” BioServUK and Protein Ark Managing Director Mike Brownleader will take on a broader role at CalibreScientific.

The acquisition BioServUK and ProteinArjoins join’s CalibreScientific’s Anatrace (see IBO 10/15/13), Microlytic, Molecular Dimensions (see IBO 2/15/17) units as company businesses serving the proteomics research and diagnostics markets. BIOZOL is the CalibreScientific’s first acquisition of a dedicated distribution firm and enhances its coverage in Europe.
