Varian Teams with Proxeon for Nano LC/MS

As Varian seeks to increase its share in the proteomics LC/MS market, the company needed to add an integrated nano LC/MS solution. However, Varian is the only company in the market offering nanoLC paired with a Fourier Transform triple quadrupole MS.

Odense, Denmark 4/28/08; Palo Alto, CA 4/28/08—Proxeon A/S has entered into an OEM agreement to provide its nanoscale Easy-nLC system to Varian for interface with Varian’s 920-MS Fourier Transform triple quadrupole MS. The Easy-nLC will be sold as the Varian 216-LC. “The performance of LC/MS configurations has become increasingly significant in the proteomics market,” stated Proxeon CEO Mårten Winge. “This fully integrated, split-free nanoscale LC system has been designed and optimized for use with MS and, in particular, the type of LC/MS applications used in proteomics.” Last year, Proxeon entered into an OEM agreement with Bruker for the same system (see IBO 11/30/07).
