Teledyne Isco Announces Retirement of President and COO Douglas Grant;
David Kennedy Appointed Vice President and General Manager
Lincoln, NE – December 8, 2005 -Teledyne Isco, a subsidiary of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE: TDY) announced today that Douglas Grant, long-time President and COO, will retire December 31, 2005 following 37 years of service. Concurrent with Mr. Grant’s retirement, David Kennedy has been appointed to lead Teledyne Isco as Vice President and General Manager.
Doug Grant joined Isco in 1968 as a mechanical engineer. He served as Environmental Division Assistant Manager from 1974 – 1987 and Division Vice President and General Manager from 1987 – 1995. In 1995 Mr. Grant was named President and Chief Operating Officer of Isco, reporting to Dr. Robert Allington, Isco founder, Chairman and CEO. Over the past 10 years, Mr. Grant has lead the company through a period that saw continued growth and leadership in instrumentation for the environmental sampling and flow measurement markets and also established Isco as a market leader in the field of flash chromatography instrumentation for pharmaceutical research and development. Most recently, in 2004, Mr. Grant oversaw the sale of Isco to Teledyne Technologies Incorporated of Los Angeles, California, leading to the creation of Teledyne Isco. Mr. Grant leaves Teledyne Isco at a highpoint of sales, profitability and growth. Mr. Grant will continue to serve as a consultant to both Teledyne Isco and Teledyne Technologies Incorporated for significant business issues.
Concurrent with Doug Grant’s retirement, Dr. David Kennedy has been appointed to lead Teledyne Isco as Vice President and General Manager. Dr. Kennedy received BS and PhD degrees in chemistry from Iowa State University in 1965 and 1969, respectively. He began his professional career with Rohm and Haas Company in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in industrial research and development. He was General Manager of Envirodyne Engineers, St. Louis, Missouri and held several executive positions with Pace Analytical Services in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
In 1997, Dr. Kennedy joined scientific instrument manufacturer Tekmar-Dohrmann of Cincinnati, Ohio as president. Following the purchase of Tekmar-Dohrmann by Teledyne Technologies Incorporated in 2003, Dr. Kennedy continued to run the company as General Manager of Teledyne Tekmar. In July of 2005 Dr. Kennedy transferred from Teledyne Tekmar to Teledyne Isco where he has served as Vice President of Business Development.
