Company Announcements

In March, SPECTRO Analytical Instruments appointed Quantum Analytics as the exclusive distribution and financing partner for its elemental analyzers in the US.

In April, Bruker Elemental announced a marketing cooperation agreement with XGLab, developer of the ELIO portable XRF system. The system joins Bruker’s US portfolio of products for art conservation.

In June, Rigaku Raman Technologies announced that it has formally began operating as Rigaku Analytical Devices.

Product Introductions

Bruker launched in March the D8 ENDEAVOR process diffraction solution for analysis of polycrystalline material by x-ray powder diffraction. It is the successor to the D4 ENDEAVOR. Dedicated application packages are available for cement, minerals and metals.

Bruker launched the MD BLIZZARD small-spot XRF spectrometer specifically designed for the nondestructive analysis of printed circuit boards. Rugged construction allows for use on the shop floor.

PANalytical introduced in March the GaliPIX3D detector for XRD, featuring pixel dimensions of 60 µm x 60 µm. It is designed for use with the Empyrean XRD system.

Analytik Jena launched the PlasmaQuant MS ICP-MS system, featuring an argon consumption rate of less than 10 L/min. plasma coolant gas.

In April, Oxford Instruments introduced the mid-range X-MET8000 Optimum and top-of-the-line X-MET8000 Smart handheld XRF analyzers.

Electro Scientific Industries launched the NWRimage system, an elemental imaging–specific laser ablation instrument for investigating elemental binding and transport within cells, featuring submicrometer resolution.

In May, Helmut Fischer introduced the Fischerscope x-ray Xan 500 portable XRF gauge for coating-thickness measurement and materials analysis. It consists of a desktop system and mobile handset.

In June, Teledyne CETAC Technologies launched the ASX-560 Autosampler, featuring improved pump technology.

Teledyne CETAC Technologies introduced the MVX-7100 µL Workstation, a sample introduction system for IPC-MS, which supports sample volumes as low as 5 µL.

Analytik Jena announced in April the sale of 33 AA ZEEnit 700 P spectrometers to the Water Resources Board of Chongqing, China, for monitoring drinking water quality.

In June, XOS, a Danaher company, introduced the portable HD Rocksand HDXRF system for heavy-metal detection in soil.
