Bede Goes into Administration

Bede is a developer of X-ray diffraction, X-ray reflectivity and X-ray fluorescence technology for semiconductor research, process development and manufacturing. The company exited its laboratory instrument business in 2004 (see IBO 5/31/04).

London, UK 2/26/08 and 3/31/08—X-ray metrology firm Bede has appointed BDO Soy Hayward as joint administrators for the company. Bede stated it also expects no return to equity shareholders. On February 26, the company announced that discussions with possible bidders had been terminated and that it was suspending the trading of its stock on the London Stock Exchange. Company sales in the first nine months of 2007 rose 78% to £4.1 million ($8.2 million).
