As the result of an expanded licensing and commercialization relationship with Lankenau Institute for Medical Research, Rockland Immunochemicals now markets CellCountEZ, OxPhos, RadDose and Intracelluar ThioEZ assays and additional products.
StemCells partnered with R Biomedical to develop and commercialize a range of cell lines and reagents to facilitate human induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cell–based research for regenerative medicine. The first product was launched in October 2012 under the SC Proven brand.
EMD Millipore announced in November 2012 an initiative with Sistemic to develop a monitoring methodology utilizing miRNA marker detection to enable consistent growth of stem cells in its Mobius CellReady platform.

Meridian Bioscience’s fiscal 2012 Life Science sales ending September 30, 2012, rose 10.8% to $42.5 million (see IBO 12/15/12) to make up 24% of company sales. Adjusted operating profit increased 159.7% to $9.5 million. Core bulk reagent sales rose 8%, and molecular reagents revenue grew 15%. Bioline sales totaled $17 million. Fiscal 2013 Life Science sales are expected to grow 5%–6%.
