Company Announcements

In August, Antonarp raised $8 million in a Series A round for development of the Smart Spectrometer technology platform for gas-composition analysis instruments.

Optek named AMS Instrumentation & Calibration as its exclusive distributor for Australia.

Cambridge Sensotec, which provides gas analysis systems, acquired Dynascan, a supplier of leak-detection products, in August.

In August, Addtech Life Science agreed to acquire Flow-Teknikk, which markets process instrument in Norway and has annual sales of around NOK 30 million ($5 million).

In September, SP Scientific agreed to exclusively distribute Physical Sciences’ LyoFlux 200 Water Vapor Mass Flow Rate Monitor for lab and pilot-scale freeze dryers.

Advanced Photonix announced a value-added reseller agreement with Seltek for its T-Gauge industrial terahertz gauging system.

In November, Emerson Process Management opened its first manufacturing and integration center in Asia for Rosemount Analytical at its Southeast Asia Service Center in Singapore. The $11 million center is expected to employ 65 people by the end of 2015.

In December, Yokogawa Electric established Yokogawa Analytical Solutions in Malaysia with 30 employees. The company also announced that it aims to increase the sales of its process-analyzer systems business from ¥15 billion ($180 million) in fiscal 2013 to ¥20 billion ($230 million) in fiscal 2020.

Endress+Hauser named Dr. Rolf Birkhofer as managing director of Process Solutions. Most recently, he was managing director at CodeWrights.

Product Introductions

In August, Modern Water introduced the PetroChek portable or online crude or refined hydrocarbon monitor. It utilizes fluorescence to identify PAHs.

Prozess Technologies introduced the Reveal spectrometer, with a price range of $30,000–$65,000.

In October, SWAN Analytical Instruments released the AMI Phosphate HL, an online photometer-based instrument that uses colorimetric measurement.

Axiom Analytical introduced in November the FPT-850LT Cryogenic NIR Transmission Probe for long-term service at extremely low temperatures.

Astrotech launched the iONTRAC MS process monitor for petrochemical industrial-processing streams.

Baseline, a MOCON company, introduced the PetroAlert Series 9100 GC for mud logging and other hydrocarbon-measurement applications.

Mettler-Toledo Process Analytics launched the M100 two-wire, head-mount transmitter for liquid analytics. It does not require a local interface.
