Axiom Analytical Announces Five Year Warranty

Axiom Analytical Announces Five Year Warranty for Spectroscopic Probes and Cells for Chemical Process Analysis

TUSTIN, Calif. — Axiom Analytical, Inc. has announced that it will extend the warranty period on its standard near-infrared (NIR) and Raman process analytical probes and flow cells to a total of 5 years from the date of purchase. The products covered include its FPT-850 Near-IR transmission probes, FDR-780 and 790 diffuse reflectance probes, FCT-980 process transmission cells, and RFP-500 Series Raman probes. All of these products utilize the Axiom welded sapphire-to-metal sealing technique. The Axiom seal has essentially eliminated the failure modes encountered with other seals such as o-rings, energized seals, and brazes. This development provides the level of long term reliability required for the success of process analytical technology (PAT) in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. Except for the five year period, the terms of the Warranty remain the same as those published on the Company’s website for its previous one year Warranty.

Commenting on the new policy, Dr. W. Michael Doyle, CEO of Axiom stated: “The five year Warranty provides our process analytical customers with a high level of assurance at virtually no cost to Axiom. We have many hundreds of products in the field which the Axiom Seal. The few failures that have been experienced have generally been with products that have been installed in chemical processes for over ten years and have been exposed to harsh chemical and thermal conditions for most of that time.”

The Axiom Seal employs a high-nickel alloy C-ring compressed and captured in an electron-beam welded Hastelloy or stainless steel structure. Since the C-rings used were originally developed for use in jet aircraft engines, the Axiom seal can easily handle the most extreme temperature and pressure conditions encountered in the chemical process industries.
