Centice Corporation Places PINPOINT Rx™ into Major New England Hospital

MORRISVILLE, NC – Centice Corporation, a pioneer in chemical verification and identification using Raman spectroscopy and computational sensor technology, announced today the sale of the new PINPOINT Rx™ drug identification system designed to assist hospital pharmacists with identifying prescription pills, pill fragments and material suspected to be prescription drugs. Integrating hardware sensing technology for chemical analysis and the Medi-Span® database software, the system matches the chemical composition with descriptive information to quickly find a match automatically, without human intervention. The product provides an alternative to visual identification, internet searches and commercial databases.

“We are asked to identify pills several times a week that are brought into the hospital by emergency personnel or by the patient’s family members.
