Galbraith Laboratories, Inc. Expands Services With Agilent GC/MS 5975C

Knoxville, TN – Galbraith Laboratories, Inc., an industry leader in analytical chemistry / elemental analysis, is pleased to announce the addition of an Agilent GC/MS 5975C inert Mass Spectroscopy Detector (MSD) using EI ionization.

This MSD system provides advanced analytical capabilities that enable Galbraith to offer clients enhanced organic testing services. The system is integrated with an Agilent 7890A GC with a Combi-Pal auto-sampler. Data is collected using MSD Security ChemStation providing results that are FDA 21CFR Part 11 compliant.

The system is versatile and allows for a broad range of analyses. The 5975C has synchronous SIM/Scan mode that can selectively monitor for ions of interest with high sensitivity SIM, while simultaneously acquiring scan data with a performance up to 1050 amu. The GC is outfitted with both the 5975C mass spectrometer and FID detectors. The Combi-Pal has head-space and direct-inject capabilities. Scan data is library searchable using the NIST08 Library.

This technology offers increased productivity and flexibility as well as reduced baseline noise, improved peak shape and spectral fidelity, better library matches at trace levels, improved identity resolution, higher sensitivity specifications with helium, and reduced analysis time.
