Halo Genomics’ new kit further increases sample throughput and reduces costs

UPPSALA, Sweden – Halo Genomics AB, an Uppsala?based genomics company, announces the availability of HaloPlex™ PCR Kit with increased sample multiplexing capabilities

Halo Genomics today released HaloPlex™ PCR Reagent Kit with sample barcodes designed to work with Illumina Next-Generation Sequencers. The new kit enables multiplexing of up to 96 samples per sequencing lane. This significantly increases the scale and throughput while reducing cost per sample.

The major bottleneck in targeted resequencing projects is the preparation of a sequencing library. Halo Genomics’ HaloPlex product combines PCR with sequencing library preparation and thus eliminates library preparation completely, allowing users to increase their sample throughput by up to five-fold.

“By combining the HaloPlex technology with extensive sample multiplexing, researchers are now able to carry out high volume projects where costs and workload previously were prohibitive“, said Olle Ericsson, CEO of Halo Genomics.

The new kit will be launched this week at the 12th International Congress of Human Genetics in Montreal, Canada.
