Beverly, MA – Today founder and CEO Lou Guarracina announced his decision to step down as CEO of the company, enabling him to focus on new technology development.  He will remain on the board of the company, and will become its Chief Technology Officer.  Guarracina founded the business in 2004 based on a unique modular docking approach to lab automation, delivering both performance and flexibility to customers globally.

Guarracina will be replaced by Peter Harris, who has been on the board of the company for the past two years, and was previously Chairman and CEO of Cadence, Inc., a high technology manufacturer of medical devices.  Most recently he served as Vice President and Managing Director of Axel Johnson, Inc., the majority owner of HighRes.

“From the time I founded the company twelve years ago, my passion has always been on the conceptualization and development of leading technologies for lab automation and scientific discovery.  There are so many new product ideas to pursue for HighRes, but the task of running the company on a day to day basis has limited my ability to focus on what I love.  I look forward to staying involved, and helping the company continue its technological leadership in the industry,” said Guarracina.  “I have known and worked with Peter for many years, and believe the company is in good hands.”
