New FOSS subsidiary to serve Central America

Effective January 1st, 2012, FOSS has a new subsidiary: FOSS Centro América S.A. The new office is based in Mexico City and has been created through the integration of a former FOSS distributor, Operadora ETESA (OETESA). The integration includes a well-qualified team of sales and technical experts who will continue to serve FOSS customers in Central America. With the new office, FOSS has a good local presence from North to South America. It is managed as part of the Americas region under Senior Vice President, Jan Elgaard.

Previously, OETESA had been in business for 40 years as a distributor for FOSS. “As we have seen with other new subsidiaries around the world, the assimilation of well functioning distributor companies into the FOSS orbit brings significant synergy effects,” said Elgaard. “We welcome our new colleagues and look forward to building on the great work done by OETESA for many years by accelerating growth in the area even more.”

Mexico is the 13th largest economy in the world and a major exporter of goods operating under free trade agreements such as the North American Free Trade Agreement. Meat and poultry production is the highest value export in the food and agri segment. The Central American region is developing rapidly and the new office will help to support this growth to full effect.

The new office in Mexico brings the number of countries with FOSS subsidiaries around the world to a total of 27.

The subsidiary is already operating with its own local version of the FOSS website: www.foss.com.mx.
