Novasep becomes an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO)

Novasep fully compliant with the most stringent international supply chain standards

Lyon, France– Novasep, a leading supplier of services and technologies for the life sciences industry, today announces that its French sites, in Chasse-sur-Rhone and Mourenx, have been granted the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) status by French Customs Authorities. This certification complements the one already granted to the German Leverkusen site.

The AEO certificate covers two key challenges for European businesses taking part in international supply chains. The certificate helps to simplify customs-related operations regarding controls and documentation. It also addresses the management of security and safety of the supply operations. As a company that makes more than 90% of its turnover outside of France, Novasep places particular importance on the agility and rigor of its international logistics operations.

During the audit, Novasep demonstrated full compliance with customs legislation and taxation rules, including with regards to financial solvency and traceability of its processes. Furthermore, the security and safety measures on the sites were demonstrated to be fully compliant with the AEO program’s stringent selection criteria.

The AEO program has Mutual Recognition in the European Union and in other countries, such as China and the U.S., which Novasep deals with on a daily basis.

“The team did a great job getting the AEO certificate within only 15 months,” Jean Blehaut, President of Novasep’s Synthesis BU, said, “It has been key to the coordination of the project and to getting the full support of our local teams. With this certificate, Novasep indicates to its CDMO clients that it is fully compliant with the most stringent international supply chain standards”.
