London, UK —The Smiths Group has announced that effective August 1st it will create a new Detection division, which will include Smiths Detection and

Smiths Heimann. Currently, these businesses are part of the Smiths Aerospace division. John Langston, group managing director of the Sealing Solutions division, will become group managing director of the new division. “Both our Aerospace and the new Detection divisions have built an impetus for growth in the next few years. Establishing the new division now gives management the opportunity to develop that growth to full potential,” said Smiths Group Chief Executive Keith Butler-Wheelhouse.
