NEWS – Bournemouth, UK: Solentim, the innovator and leader in Cell Line Development instrumentation, is pleased to announce the appointment of Claire Richards as their new Head of Biological Science.

Claire Richards began her career at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute/Cambridge University where she did her PhD in the Cancer Genome Project Group. Shortly after completing her PhD she joined Horizon Discovery as a start-up, where she was heavily involved in the pioneering development of rAAV and CRISPR cell line development pipelines. Claire managed a team performing commercial gene editing services to valuable clients with high standards and tight deadlines.

After moving to the South West, Claire continued to work with Horizon Discovery before being introduced to Solentim in 2016. Consulting for Solentim, she worked with the directors to design, commission and set up the cell culture laboratory and has provided advice surrounding cell line development processes.

Joining Solentim now as Head of Biological Sciences, Claire will continue draw on her previous experience to help drive the expanding range of Solentim products and future offerings that are heavily used in the field of cell line development for the production of biotherapeutics.
