Beijing – Spectro Inc. today announced the introduction of SpectroVisc Q3000, the world’s first truly portable, solvent-free, temperature-controlled kinematic viscometer at the BCEIA instrumentation exhibition in Beijing. SpectroVisc Q3000 uses a patented split cell capillary (SCC) technique which allows the user to measure kinematic viscosity from only a few drops of oil, and no solvents are required for cleaning. The entire sampling and testing process takes only a few minutes and can be easily conducted anywhere, according to the company.

The new viscometer is ideal for fast kinematic viscosity measurement in the field or any portable environment. The Q3000 has an intuitive software user interface, weighs just under 1.8 kg, is powered by a Li Ion battery that provides over 6 hours of continuous operation, according to the company.
