First quarter sales for INFICON’s Security & Energy business (formerly Emergency Response & Security) climbed 64.1% to $6.4 million, or 6% of total sales.

In June, Activated Research (ARC) partnered with Wasson-ECE Instrumentation, which will provide a private label version of ARC’s Polyarc catalytic microreactor. Wasson-ECE is now the global distribution channel for the product outside the US.

Product Introductions

In May, Markes launched the xr series thermal desorption systems, featuring extended sample recollection and an extended analyte range. The series is comprised of the automated TD-100-xr and four modular units that can be combined in different ways.

Gerstel introduced the MPS roboticPRO GC/MS autosampler for high-throughput applications.

Gerstel released the TDU (Thermo Desorption Unit) 2, its fourth generation thermal desorption unit.

In June, VUV Analytics launched the VGA-101 GC detector featuring an expanded wavelength, higher maximum allowable operating temperature and in-line GC compatibility.
