Thermo Fisher Scientific and Evans Analytical Group announced in May a collaboration to add pulsed ion-source technology to glow-discharge MS.

In June, Thermo Fisher Scientific entered into a collaboration with Nuclea Biotechnologies to develop multiplexed-MS–based research methods for high-throughput quantification of native insulin and its therapeutic analogs.

Thermo Fisher Scientific announced in June a collaboration with BioAnalytix to develop advanced analytical profiling platforms and applications to characterize biologic and biosimilar drugs.

In May, Agilent Technologies and SISCAPA Assay Technologies signed an agreement to provide a complete solution for multiplexed protein quantitation using a highly automated workflow for SISCAPA LC/MS utilizing their respective Bravo Automated Liquid Handling Platform and reagents for targeted protein quantitation.

In June, SISCAPA Assay Technologies announced that New England Peptide will manufacture peptide standards for use with its SISCAPA assays.

In June, Waters announced the registration of its ACUITY UPLC TQD LC/MS system with the Chinese FDA as a medical device for routine diagnostic applications and neonatal metabolites-diseases screening.

In June, Golden West Biologicals, a provider of raw materials for IVD applications, and IsoSciences, an MDP Chemicals subsidiary, announced the intent to form a joint venture under the name CertiTrol to develop, manufacture and market products for LC/MS, including standards, calibrators, controls and kits.

Product Introductions

Caprion introduced in April the CNS (central nervous system) ProteoCarta, a cerebrospinal-fluid proteomic panel for monitoring CNS proteins associated with neurological disorders. It allows for the simultaneous detection and quantification of 142 proteins in 75 µL of human CSF in a single, multiplexed MRM assay.

In May, Bruker introduced several software modules for the MALDI Biotyper, including the MBT STAR-BL (Beta Lactamase) module.

AB SCIEX released in June the MasterView Food Testing Workflow for QTRAP software.

PREMIER Biosoft introduced SimGlycan 5.0, which supports automated MS glycan quantitation analysis using Thermo Fisher Scientific’s aminoxyTMT reagents.

IONICS introduced the PhoTorrent APPI source for its 3Q MS Series.

Phoenix S&T launched the pneu-Nimbus dual-column nano-LC/MS source for Thermo Fisher Scientific and AB SCIEX MS systems.

Prosolia introduced the Velox 360 automated system for direct dried-biofluid analysis.
